According to a statement provided by Ilion Mayor John Stephens, Trustee/Deputy Mayor Kari Allen and Trustee Joshua Kelly have both tendered their resignations from the Village of Ilion Board of Trustees.
The Mayor confirmed that both resignations were effective April 27, 2026.
Stephens described both Allen and Kelly as βvaluable membersβ of the board and stated their resignations would be a significant loss to both the board and the community.
The Mayor also noted that the remaining board members are continuing operations as usual and are currently working through the legal process and timeline should appointments be necessary to fill the vacancies.
When asked if there was any additional information the public should be aware of regarding the resignations, Mayor Stephens stated that the boardβs direction had already been outlined and did not provide further details.
Prior to the official confirmation, a public social media post attributed to Kari Allen indicated her intention to step down and withdraw from the upcoming June election.
At this time, no official explanation has been provided regarding the circumstances leading to the resignations.
