What was supposed to be a simple stop is now raising some serious questions in the City of Rome.

TVOTT Hillbilly News received an anonymous tip regarding an incident that allegedly took place on April 17, 2026, around 12:42 PM. According to the individual, they were riding a bicycle on a sidewalk when they were stopped by police over what they describe as a minor issue involving lighting on the bike.

From there, the situation reportedly escalated.

The individual claims they provided their name and did not believe they had committed a crime. They also state they were issued a charge related to inadequate lighting on a bicycle.

But the part that has people paying attention is what they say happened next.

According to the tip, the individual alleges that multiple officers became involved and physical force was used during the arrest. The person claims they repeatedly told officers they had rods and screws in their back and warned them about the risk of serious injury.

β€œI have rods and screws in my back, please get off,” the individual reportedly yelled during the encounter. They also claim they warned, β€œYou’re going to paralyze me.”

The tip further alleges that officers continued to apply pressure despite those warnings.

The individual states that video of the incident exists, though that footage has not yet been independently verified by TVOTT Hillbilly News.

At this time, no conclusions are being made.

TVOTT Hillbilly News has submitted requests to the Rome Police Department seeking confirmation of the incident, details of any charges filed, and clarification on whether force was used and why.

A formal records request has also been submitted for body camera footage, dispatch logs, and related reports tied to the incident.

As of publication, no official response has been received.

This is a developing situation, and we are actively working to verify details, review any available footage, and speak with all parties involved.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have video is encouraged to reach out. Anonymous submissions are accepted.

As always, everyone is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
