According to a statement from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received reporting a physical domestic incident at a residence in the Town of Verona.
Authorities say that on May 2, 2026, Matthew J. Lenhart, age 23, was arrested following the response. Deputies report that during the investigation, they learned Lenhart was allegedly present at the residence in violation of an active order of protection.
Officials stated that the initial call could not be fully substantiated due to a lack of cooperation at the scene. However, the arrest was made based on the reported violation of New York State mandatory arrest laws related to orders of protection.
Lenhart was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Aggravated Family Offense, a class E felony, according to authorities.
He was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing and later held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
At this time, no further details have been confirmed regarding the original domestic report or any injuries. The investigation appears to be based on initial findings at the scene.
