According to a statement from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Town of Whitestown Police responded to a reported trespass complaint at an address on Judd Road in the Town of Whitestown on May 5th, 2026, at approximately 3:30 PM.
Authorities say police identified the individual involved as 35-year-old Taw Eh Htoo of Utica. Investigators allege Htoo had recently been released from the Oneida County Correctional Facility and was later found inside an abandoned home on Judd Road that is now reportedly owned by Oneida County and state property.
The Sheriff’s Office stated the investigation was later turned over to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit due to what authorities described as being a felony-level offense.
According to officials, Htoo was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, a felony, along with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor.
Authorities say he was transported to the Law Enforcement Building, processed, and later returned to the Oneida County Correctional Facility pending arraignment in CAP Court. Officials state he was ultimately released on his own recognizance and is expected to return to Town of Whitestown Court at a later date.
