UTICA, N.Y. — Well folks, this one right here ain’t just another headline — it’s the kind of situation that makes you stop and say, what in the world is going on out here?

Utica Police are digging deep into a violent stabbing that unfolded on March 8 along Mohawk Street, where a man was attacked during what authorities describe as a group assault involving multiple individuals.

According to investigators, the chaos kicked off around 8:15 p.m., when a fight broke out and escalated fast — real fast. The victim ended up being stabbed in the chest and rushed to Wynn Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Officials say he was in critical condition but is now expected to recover.

Now here’s where it gets serious…

Police have confirmed that four suspects have been arrested in connection to the attack:

  • Aiden Diaz, 18 (Utica) – charged with:
    • Attempted Murder (2nd Degree)
    • Gang Assault (1st Degree)
    • Criminal Possession of a Weapon

Authorities say Diaz is believed to be the one who actually carried out the stabbing.

  • Yusef Mudey, 19 (Utica)
  • Abdi Mohamed, 19 (Utica)
  • Ilias Shego, 21 (Utica)

Those three are all facing Gang Assault charges, tied to the group attack on the victim.

But hold on — this story ain’t over yet.

Police say two additional individuals have been identified and are STILL on the run, and investigators are actively working to track them down.

Authorities also confirmed that the suspects fled the scene after the attack, leaving the victim seriously injured before emergency crews stepped in.

🚨 What This Means for the Community

Let’s be real for a second — this wasn’t some one-on-one scuffle. This was a group assault that turned into attempted murder, right in the streets of Utica.

That raises some big questions:

  • What led up to this level of violence?
  • Was this targeted, or something that spiraled out of control?
  • And how many more people were actually involved?

Police haven’t released every detail yet, but one thing is clear — this wasn’t random chaos… this was organized enough to involve multiple attackers.
