UTICA, NY β€” What started as a chaotic overnight call had police and emergency crews moving fast on Howard Avenue after reports came in of a teen injured during what was first described as a stabbing.

According to dispatch audio, units were sent to the area shortly after 1:00 AM for a report involving a male teen with a facial injury. The initial call came across as a stabbing, which immediately raised the urgency of the response, bringing both EMS and police to the scene.

As crews arrived and assessed the situation, radio traffic later suggested the injury may not have been a stabbing but rather a significant laceration to the face. Even so, the situation was serious enough that the teen was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Details surrounding what led up to the incident remain unclear at this time. There has been no official confirmation on whether another individual was involved, or what exactly caused the injury.

This is the kind of call that gets people talking, especially when it involves younger individuals and late-night activity. Whether it turns out to be an isolated incident or something more, it’s another reminder that things can turn fast out there.
