JOHNSTOWN, NY — Alright folks, it’s that time again… the snow’s gone, the grass is waking up, and yards across the Mohawk Valley are lookin’ like they’ve been through a war.
Good news though — the City of Johnstown just opened up its Yard Waste & Brush Drop-Off Site for the season.
📍 Location: Corner of W. Main Street & Cayadutta
🕒 Hours: Open daily from dawn to dusk
This gives residents a spot to dump all that winter mess — branches, leaves, yard debris — without piling it up on the curb and hoping it magically disappears.
But don’t go rolling in there doing whatever you want…
🚫 NO PLASTIC BAGS.
Yeah — they’re serious about that one.
If you show up with your yard waste tied up in plastic, you’re probably turning right back around. The city wants loose debris only, so plan ahead before loading up the truck or trailer.
Also worth noting:
- This is for City of Johnstown residents only
- No dumping from contractors or businesses
- Keep it clean so they don’t shut it down early (you know how that goes)
👉 Bottom line:
This is your chance to clean up your property the right way without getting fined or annoying the neighbors.
And let’s be honest… half the town’s about to look a whole lot better because of it.
