New Hartford, NY β A serious case out of the Town of New Hartford has led to felony charges after what police describe as a multi-agency investigation involving a minor.
According to the New Hartford Police Department, 40-year-old Raynaldo Raymos has been charged following an investigation into a report of unlawful physical contact involving a 17-year-old victim.
Police say the incident dates back to April 7, 2026, and allegedly occurred at a residence in New Hartford. The victim, whose name is being withheld, was reportedly exposed to inappropriate physical contact while at the same location as the accused. Authorities confirmed the two individuals were known to each other.
At the time of the alleged incident, officials say there was already an active Court Order of Protection in place against Raymos, prohibiting this type of contact and other behaviors stemming from a previous case.
After the initial report, the New Hartford Police Criminal Investigation Division took over the case, working alongside the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center. Investigators continued to gather evidence and later expanded efforts with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Authorities say Raymos was eventually located after multiple charges were issued.
He is now facing:
- Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, a felony
- Forcible Touching, a misdemeanor
- Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation
Raymos was taken into custody and transported to the New Hartford Police Department for processing. He has since been transferred to the Oneida County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in the Oneida County Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
As with all cases, these are charges and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
