CAMDEN, NY — Things got loud and fast late Friday night in Camden, and it didn’t end quietly.
According to the Village of Camden Police Department, officers were alerted around 10:34 p.m. on April 17, 2026, after New York State Police reported a vehicle had allegedly thrown an object at a patrol car, causing damage, before taking off.
From there, it turned into a chase.
The suspect vehicle was reportedly heading northbound into Camden on Harden Boulevard. A Camden patrol officer in the area spotted the vehicle moving at a high rate of speed and joined in, assisting State Police as the pursuit pushed through the village.
The chase didn’t last forever—but it didn’t end small either.
Police say the pursuit came to a stop on Preston Street, where six individuals inside the vehicle were detained. That included two adults and four juveniles. After sorting everything out, the juveniles were released to their families. The focus turned to the two adults.
Authorities identified the driver as 18-year-old Tallyliana G. Capoccetta of Rome. Investigators say she was behind the wheel during the pursuit, with a passenger identified as Gabriel L. Clark of Taberg, who is accused of causing damage to the State Police vehicle.
Capoccetta is now facing a list of charges that reads like a checklist of “don’t do this behind the wheel,” including:
- Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle (3rd Degree)
- Multiple speeding violations
- Reckless driving
- Failure to obey a police officer
- Unsafe turning and failure to signal
Clark was released by State Police, while Capoccetta was turned over to Camden Police for additional charges and later released on an appearance ticket. She’s expected back in Town of Camden Court at a later date.
Police credited coordination between agencies—including State Police, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, and Environmental Conservation Police—for bringing the situation to a controlled end.
Now comes the part that always follows these stories—questions.
How does something like this start over a thrown object and escalate into a multi-agency chase? Who else was in that car, and what were they thinking? And more importantly—what happens next when the court date hits?
As always, everyone involved is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
