UTICA, N.Y. — Let’s just call this what it is… somebody decided to play games Thursday morning and dragged an entire school into it.
Around 9:15 a.m., a call came into JFK Middle School claiming bombs were planted and ready to go off. That’s not a joke. That’s not “kids being kids.” That’s the kind of stunt that shuts a whole school down and puts real fear into people.
So what happens next?
Hundreds of kids and staff get pulled out of the building and marched over to Redeemer Church while police roll in heavy.
Now here’s the part people need to understand — this wasn’t some quick peek-around situation.
Police locked it down, swept the building, brought in K-9 units trained to sniff out explosives, and checked the entire property.
And guess what? Nothing. Not a single device.
So yeah… all that panic, all that disruption, all that fear — over a fake call.
But don’t get it twisted… just because nothing was found doesn’t mean this is “no big deal.”
Whoever made that call just wasted emergency resources, scared families, and put an entire school day into chaos.
The good news?
Staff and students kept their heads on straight. No panic, no stampede, no nonsense. They got everyone out safely, kept track of every student, and handled it like pros.
Police and federal investigators — including the FBI — are now digging into where that call came from.
And let me say this real clear:
When they find out who did it, it’s not gonna end with a slap on the wrist.
