Let’s cut the crap and say it straight.

They keep sayin’ mental health is “gettin’ better” since COVID.

Numbers dropped. Charts look nice. Politicians probably patting themselves on the back.

But you walk down the streets in Utica… Rome… Herkimer…

Tell me if it feels better.

Because around here?

It don’t.

🧠 The Numbers vs Reality

Yeah, it’s true — during COVID, things got BAD.

About 4 outta 10 people were struggling with anxiety or depression.

Now they’re sayin’ it’s closer to 2 outta 10.

Sounds like a win, right?

But hold on…

Before all this mess?

It was lower than that.

So what they ain’t sayin’ is:
👉 We ain’t back to normal
👉 We just ain’t at rock bottom no more

That ain’t the same thing.

📍 Mohawk Valley Ain’t Bouncin’ Back Like They Say

Out here, mental health ain’t just a “stat” — it’s everyday life.

  • Folks wait weeks just to talk to somebody
  • Some don’t even bother tryin’ anymore
  • Others just deal with it alone

And let’s be real…

A lotta people ain’t talkin’ about it — they just carry it.

⚠️ What’s Really Going On

This ain’t just “mental health.”

This is:

  • Bills piling up
  • Jobs stressin’ people out
  • Loneliness hittin’ harder than ever
  • Drugs messin’ up whole families
  • Small towns feelin’ smaller every day

It all stacks up.

And when it stacks up long enough…

People crack.

🔥 Now Here’s Where It Gets Wild

At the same time they’re sayin’ mental health is “better”…

They’re also sayin’ stuff like:

👉 More people asking for exorcisms
👉 More folks thinking something “ain’t right” with them

So let’s ask the real question nobody wants to say out loud:

Is it something supernatural…
or is it people hurting so bad they don’t know what else to call it?

🧾 Bottom Line

Yeah… numbers improved.

But life around here?

Still heavy.

Still stressful.

Still a whole lotta folks fightin’ battles nobody sees.
