SCHUYLER, NY — A man has died following a tractor accident in the Town of Schuyler Tuesday afternoon.

According to emergency dispatch traffic around 3:37 PM, crews were called to Cogar Drive for a report of a man pinned underneath a full-size tractor. Initial scanner reports described a serious and rapidly developing situation, with the man suffering critical injuries.

First responders quickly worked to free the individual, calling in additional resources, including specialized rescue equipment and a medical helicopter as the situation escalated.

Despite those efforts, the man was pronounced dead.

New York State Police have confirmed the fatal outcome and are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, the identity of the victim has not been released.

Tractor and heavy equipment accidents can turn deadly in seconds, especially in rural areas where terrain and access can complicate rescue efforts.
